YVONNE MONAGHAN

Joint CEO

Yvonne has over 30 years’ experience of working with children who exhibit social, emotional, and behavioural needs, working in primary, secondary, and special school settings, holding a range of teaching, senior leadership and management  positions.

CONSULTANCY

Yvonne was the Head of consultancy for nurtureuk for six years. She also wrote and delivered the training for Boxall online and oversaw the ‘Now you see us’ project, delivering the training and supporting schools with the consultants in the North West and London.

 

WORKING WITH AUTHORITIES AND TRAINING

Before working for nurtureuk, Yvonne was the Co-ordinator for Behaviour, (Social, emotional, and mental health) for the Targeted Education Support Service, working for Wigan Authority. She was part of the CAMHs partnership board and worked closely with the Inclusion team to encourage less exclusions and ensure children and young people recieved targeted support. She also became an associate tutor for Edgehill University to deliver the SENCO training and later to be a marker for the course.

  • Authority lead on the NPSLBA course for the DFE

  • Qualified as a specialist teacher in Dyslexia

  • Trained in Soundswrite

  • Peer massage instructor

  • Organanised and delivered at SEN conferences

  • Management training and award at masters level

  • Written and delivered courses

  • Masters in SEN and Inclusion

  • Trainer for nurture group theory and practice for 20 years (still having the original training pack!).

  • Trainer for Restorative practice work

  • Supported schools setting up and maintaining nurture groups and nurturing provisions nationally and internationally.

 

HISTORY

Yvonne has also been a key note speaker at conferences around the United Kingdom and internationally. Also delivering workshops and training nationally and internationally and lucky enough to enjoy sharing and learning new knowledge.

 

Throughout all her teaching Yvonne was drawn to the nurture approach due to her recognising how positive professional relationships are key to a positive working atmosphere and more importantly still, a happier environment in which children and young people can flourish and achieve their potential.

 

She was introduced to Marion Bennathon 25 years ago at a SEBDA (Social, Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties Association) conference also meeting Alison Grimshaw where they attended a workshop with Marion.
